Title I Parent Notification

Parents Right-to-Know

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As a school that receives federal funds through Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), we are committed to providing a high-quality education for all students. This program allows us to enhance academic achievement through additional resources, staff, and programs.

In accordance with Section 1112(e)(1)(A) of the ESSA, parents and guardians of students attending a Title I school have the right to request certain information about their child’s teachers and instructional staff. Specifically, you may request information regarding:

  • Whether the teacher has met state qualifications and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas they teach.

  • Whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or other provisional status.

  • The teacher’s degree major and other graduate certifications or degrees

    held

    .

  • Whether your child is provided with services by paraprofessionals, and if so, their qualifications

    .

To request this information, please contact Dennis Fields at FielD001@hartfordschools.org. We are committed to providing this information promptly and transparently.

Additionally, under Section 1112(e)(1)(B) of the ESSA, you will be notified if your child is taught for four or more consecutive weeks by a teacher who does not meet state certification or licensing requirements.

Your partnership in your child’s education is invaluable, and we encourage you to stay actively involved. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for your continued support of Annie Fisher STEM. Together, we can achieve success for every student!

Best regards,

 Erin Wilson-Ruff
